“For me being an ally seems like a no-brainer, to simply have love and respect for all humans regardless of their sexual preference, gender, or beliefs. But being an ally goes beyond just that simple notion.
Being an ally means standing up for what’s right. Helping those who may not have a voice be heard, and making those who feel afraid to speak up feel safer to do so. Being an ally means fighting for the LGBTQ+ community to help them get the same love and support that other communities get with no questions asked.
I’ve found some of my best friendships within the LGBTQ+ community. They continue to help me grow and learn how to be a better person every day, and I am very grateful to be included in a part of that community as well.”
